If you're looking to get fit for the New Year and want your dog to do the same, one way is by enrolling them in dog agility classes.
Dog agility is a fast-growing sport that involves training your pet to go through a series of obstacles. Some people do it for competition, but one local trainer said most people just do it for fun.
Zoom Room Owner Michele Mendoza said taking part in the sport is sure to burn off some calories for both human and canine participants.
"It's a really good way for you to get exercise because you're running with them the whole time and it's very cardiovascular. They're getting exercise and they're also focusing again on you. It's just this really beautiful thing to see when it all works out," Mendoza said.
If you're a cat person, Mendoza said there are also cat agility classes.
