Austinites have been enjoying a BMX bike trail and jump area in the heart of downtown for the past 20 years.
“This is really unique in terms of trails or BMX jumps because it’s right in the middle of Downtown Austin and most trails are hidden in the woods because the city doesn’t like it, but this park is 20 years old,” rider Jack Behal said.
Locals call it Ninth Street, and it’s an area where the community works together to keep it in shape.
“Here, you come and work on the jumps and you take care of them,” rider O’Ryan Shehan said. “Your reward is you get to ride them.”
