As anticipation builds for the next football season, fans of the Texas State Bobcats can look forward to a new chapter in the school’s history.
The school is moving to a new athletic conference and will be playing in a newly-expanded stadium. With about double the seating capacity, the refurbished Bobcat Stadium has a new layout with expanded priority seating and ticket pricing strategy.
"When the stadium project is complete, Bobcat Stadium will hold about 30,000 fans," Bryan Miller, Assistant Athletic Director, said. "We reserved a lot of our best seats for our biggest and most avid fans."
Members of the Texas State Bobcat Club are awarded cushioned seats in the midfield and tickets to all six of the Bobcats’ home football games.
As for the seats reserved for Texas State students, they are moving closer to the end zones to stay within the new conference’s rules.
"Going into the Western Athletic Conference, there's a rule that they can't be inside the 25-yard line, so we had to adjust them and move them down a little bit."
And even though the Bobcats are now in a more competitive conference, tickets are more affordable. The cheapest season ticket is about $10 less than last year; single game tickets are as low as $15.
"Really reasonable priced,” Miller said. “So if you're looking for some great college football, Bobcat Stadium is going to be the place to be."
Texas State season ticket renewals are already underway for current ticket holders. New season ticket sales open to the public on March 30.
