According to the Austin Police Department, officers responded to barricaded suspect at the Oak Hollow Apartments off of Far West Boulevard just before 10 p.m. Due to reports of shots fired, police first established perimeter around the apartment.

About an hour later, the suspect, 34-year-old Evan Schaffrath stepped out of the apartment and fired at officers, prompting the offers to fire their weapons back.

Just before 2 a.m., Schaffrath was taken into custody with a gunshot wound which is thought to be non-life threatening.
