Police say they were called to the scene of the accident on westbound S.H. 45 near the offramp to southbound U.S. Highway 183 just before 5 p.m.

According to police, the driver of the motorcycle rear-ended a car and was thrown from the bike. The motorcycle burst into flames.

Police said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the car was uninjured.

The off-ramp was closed for the duration of the investigation, but has since reopened.
