As severe weather moved in overnight, power outages started to hit Austin. Austin Energy officials say about 1,600 people are currently without power.

Officials say outages are scattered throughout the service area. The largest outage area is at Highway 183, between Ohlen Road and Fairfield Drive, where about 250 customers are without power.

Austin Energy crews still need to restore power to about 40 locations, including replacing six poles. They have 25 repair crews and a half dozen tree trimming crews working in the field. The utility projects will take most of the afternoon to complete.

Flood Damage:
Barton Springs Pool is temporarily closed due to flooding conditions. Staff will remove debris, clean the pool and assess pool conditions once the flooding stops. YNN's Jess Mitchell shares more on Tuesday morning's flooding in the video above.
