On the road to a National Championship, the Baylor Bears continue their presence on the national stage with the Waco community behind them.

Even the youngest fans are learning the lingo with the help of Waco High School’s Girls Basketball Coach Ross Barber.

Barber said Baylor players can be spotted at just about every girl's home game at Waco High School. The Baylor Bears-Waco High School Lions connection became strong two years ago, when the Lion's head coach died suddenly.

"They came over after everybody had heard the news and talked to our kids and counseled with them. The coaches came over, and that really showed them they care more not only about themselves but about the community," Barber said.

Now, Barber and the girls on the Lion's basketball team are following the tournament closely.

"They are great role models for us. They show us hard work and dedication. I just love basketball overall so, to see them win and to just know that they are right down the street, and to know that they are doing all those awesome things is amazing," Waco High School Senior Jade Carroll said.

Lady Bear loyalists also filled George's Restaurant Monday night as Baylor beat Tennessee and move onto the Final Four.

"We like the guys. They played really hard this year, and we are proud of them but the girls just have it going this year, and they are going to go all the way. I just know it," Baylor Fan Lisa Lynch said.
