Police ID victim of deadly motorcycle wreck in East Austin
Update -- The motorcyclist has been identified as 25-year-old Ryan Buckley.

Buckley’s death marks Austin’s 35th traffic fatality this year. Last year at this time, there were 20 traffic fatalities.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit at (512) 974-8266.

Earlier -- Austin Police are investigating a deadly motorcycle accident in East Austin.

Police said the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard around 9:30 a.m. when a car traveling westbound turned in front of the bike at Walnut Street.

Both drivers from the car and the motorcycle were transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge. The motorcyclist was later pronounced dead. Police said he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

According to police, the driver of the car is in stable condition.

Police said the investigation is still in its very early stages and could not say if speed was a factor in the collision.

This is the second deadly collision involving a motorcycle in two days.
