It's a favorite southern beverage so popular it takes a whole month to celebrate.
It's National Iced Tea Month, and the owner of one Austin tea shop says the summertime is the perfect time to get creative. Iced herbal teas can be just as refreshing and even healthy.
"It quenches your thirst to have some good nutrients, like some of these teas have vitamin C. Some of these teas have antioxidants and some of them have other things that are good for you," Tea Embassy owner Jonathan Sims said.
Iced tea was first brewed in the United States. More than 80 percent of tea consumed in the states is still sold iced.
