This November, voters will be able to cast a vote for president at any polling location in Travis County.

County commissioners decided in May to move forward with voting centers for the presidential elections, and on Tuesday the Texas Secretary of State approved the action.

On Election Day Nov. 6, instead of being limited to an assigned precinct, voters can go to any of the more than 150 polling locations in the county.

Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir says the centers will bring more people to the polls.

"We wanted to make voting as convenient as possible for voters, and we now have lots of voters who have commutes or who find that that busy Election Day makes it hard to get all the way across town," she said.

If you plan to vote in the July 31 runoff, you'll need to go to the precinct on your voter registration card.

Under state law, voting centers cannot be used for primary elections.
