APD: Body in Travis Co. rec center now a murder investigation
Update -- Police are now investigating the incident as Austin's 14th murder of the year. They would not release any further details.
Earlier -- Austin police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found overnight in a car in Southwest Austin.
Police said the a security guard was making his rounds near the Travis Country Pool and Rec Center, along the 4500 block of Travis Country Circle, when he saw a body in a car and called police.
Officers said the body had suffered obvious trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The recreation center was closed Sunday while police investigated.
