The wife of the man authorities say ran a heroin ring out of a South Austin Mexican restaurant has been released on a $25,000 appearance bond.

That means Amanda Pardo doesn't have to pay the money as long as she doesn't violate the bond. She can't violate any federal laws, use any drugs or talk to other defendants besides her husband Amado.

Pardo also must surrender her passport, and is confined to Travis County and its surrounding counties. Meanwhile, her husband Amado "Mayo" Pardo is expected to be in court tomorrow on drug distribution charges.

Authorities say Pardo was the organization's ringleader, using his Texas Syndicate prison gang connections to run a drug operation from his home and the restaurant Jovita's.

Investigators say the ring made up to $6,000 a day.
