To commemorate 25 years of service, Bastrop’s H-E-B store is donating more than $32,000 to help with Bastrop County's wildfire relief efforts.

The grocery chain made the announcement Saturday during a celebration marking 25 years of doing business in Bastrop. The money will be used to reseed areas that were heavily burned during last year's wildfires.

They say it's just one way to show their appreciation to the community.

"The county has gone out and found a specific Lost Pines mix to reseed, specific to this eco-system,” H-E-B Bastrop manager Wes Dickerson said. “And why do people come to Bastrop? It's for the Lost Pines."

Customers at the anniversary celebration were also in for a treat. In honor of HEB's 25-year milestone on Bastrop, the store had several items with prices to reflect those from 1987.
