Driver accused in deadly crash faces new charges

New charges have been filed against the man police say crashed his car, killing his passenger, then fled the scene.
The suspected driver, 23-year-old Tommie Lee Egger, was charged with vehicular manslaughter, a second degree felony, for the death of Haley Elizabeth Nowak, 20.
According to police, Egger crashed his blue 2008 Ford Mustang on the 7400 block of Twilight Shadow Drive in Southwest Austin, killing Nowak.
Police said Egger fled the scene on foot, but turned himself in on Tuesday.
He has also been charged with failure to stop and render aid, a third degree felony. His bonds for both charges total $230,000.
