One person is dead following an accident Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say 72-year-old Dawn Burns Percival, of Bryan, lost control of her vehicle on State Highway 21, just east of San Marcos and hit an 18-wheeler hauling automobiles.

Percival was headed south on Highway 21 near FM 2720 when she hit the truck. Officials say her vehicle caught fire and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck suffered non-life threatening injuries.
