According to Sergeant John Foster with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, authorities have seized the largest amount of methylone in the Austin area, a chemical commonly veiled as “bath salts” in the United States.

Foster said 27-year-old Jessie Olivieri had ordered three kilograms of the chemical from a manufacturer in China and had the methylone shipped to his home in on West Parmer Lane in Austin.

On Wednesday, a police officer posing as a delivery worker delivered the methylone to Olivieri, where he was arrested.

According to Sgt. Foster, Wednesday’s seizure was the largest of its kind in the Austin area.

Police said they also retrieved addition illicit drugs and three firearms, one stolen, from the residence.

Olivieri is being held on $100,000 bond.
