Earlier --One man is dead and a child is in critical condition after a wreck in Northeast Travis County.

According to Austin/Travis County EMS, emergency crews responded to U.S. Highway 290 near S.H. 130. A man was pronounced dead at the scene and a child was taken in critical condition to Dell Children’s Hospital.

Police said the crash involved two pickup trucks, one at a red light which was rear-ended by the other. The driver of the moving truck was killed and a 12-year-old passenger was transported to the the hospital in critical condition.

A passenger in the stopped truck suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
