Hundreds of people entered the world of science fiction this weekend as part of the 34th annual Armadillocon.

The three-day literary convention featured panels and vendors selling everything from books to swords. Organizers say the event is an opportunity for professional and aspiring writers to share their love of science fiction.

"I think they have a lot of fun. It's good to connect with people that have the same interest as you. It's great to be with the people who share your passion," Armadillocon Chair Sara Felix said.

Organizers say the convention typically takes place in July or August every year. For more information on next year’s event, visit armadillocon.org.
