While a mother and her three daughters recover from a crash that killed three people, a group of friends mounted their bicycles in their honor.
The cyclists make up 44-year-old Jeanette Fields' triathalon training group. They started planning the ride as soon as they heard about the crash.
Fields and her three daughters were hospitalized last Monday after a collision on Highway 95 in Elgin.
The other driver—a pregnant woman—and her two sons died in the wreck.
"I think with good proper care, it'll be a long, long time before she can again, but we'll be there to support her and get her back on her feet doing what she loves to do," friend Alicia Hawley said.
Fields and her 8-year-old daughter Kayla have returned home. Her 9-year-old Alyson and her 8-year-old Lauren are still in the hospital.
