Austin city officials are seeking a solution to alleviating the problem of homelessness in the city.
Austin officials, including City Councilwoman Sheryl Cole, recently traveled to Miami to find out how city leaders are tackling homelessness. According to Colin Pope, editor of The Austin Business Journal, Miami's homeless population has been reduced by half over the past ten years. The city of Miami spends about $95 million per year on the problem.
