Motorcyclist dies after East Seventh collision in July
The Austin Police Department released information Friday about a fatal crash on East Seventh Street last month.

On July 23, officers say a black Suzuki motorcycle was traveling westbound in the 2700 block of East Seventh Street when the bike slid across the roadway and collided with a gold Mercedes that was headed southbound across East Seventh from Gonzales Street.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 36-year-old Dana Crawford, was transported to Brackenridge Hospital. He died of the injuries he sustained in the crash Aug 1.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit at (512) 974-5253.

Crawford’s death marks Austin’s 46th traffic fatality of the year. At this time last year, there were 34 traffic fatalities.
