Tuesday, the military judge denied the defense's request for a delay until October.
Both the prosecution and defense will be back in court Wednesday afternoon when Hasan is expected to enter a plea to the counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder. Hasan is accused of carrying out November 2009's deadly attack on Post.
Hasan was arraigned last July, but decided to defer entering a plea.
Since this is a capital case, and Hasan faces the death penalty if convicted, he could technically plead guilty. However, the judge will not accept a guilty plea.
During Tuesday’s hearing, the judge ruled the prosecution will be allowed to include testimony from a terrorism expert during the trial.
