A DPS spokesperson said the single-engine, two-seater plane was doing “touch-and-goes” when it last communicated with the Llano Municipal Airport around 11:00 a.m. A touch-and-go is a maneuver in which the pilot lands the plane briefly before quickly taking off again.

Just after 3:30 p.m., another pilot reported to DPS what appeared to be a crash on off of Farm to Market 2241, about five miles from the airport.

Inside of the crashed plane, two people were found killed. According to DPS, their families have not yet been notified.

The Federal Aviation Administration will be on scene Sunday to investigate.
