Police looking for South Austin sexual assault suspect

Austin police are looking for a man they say sexually assaulted a woman on Aug. 29 in South Austin.

A woman was walking in the mid-afternoon in the 3900 block of Clawson Road when the suspect grabbed and pulled her onto private property, according to police.

The man sexually assaulted the woman before fleeing on foot.

APD says the suspect has the following characteristics:

• Black male
• In his 30s
• Between 5’10” and 5’11”

He was last seen wearing a yellow Hawaiian-style shirt unbuttoned with a white tank top, brown short pants, a skull cap with a baseball hat over it, large sunglasses and brown and white loafer-style shoes.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS or APD’s sex crimes unit at (512) 974-5230.

Information leading to an arrest or charges filed could be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
