Austin's music community came together last night to remember one of their own.

Hundreds turned out to the ACL Live at the Moody Theater Saturday night for a concert organized in the honor of Brent Grulke, an Austin music industry legend who died last month.

Grulkefest featured bands which Grulke had worked with during his time in the music industry, including locals like Fastball and Sixteen Deluxe.

But the people at the event who knew him say he was more than an industry insider, he was a supportive friend first and foremost.

"He came to see one of the first bands I was in, and he said, 'You know, I was going to leave as soon as I heard a bad song, but I never heard one'," Miles Zuniga of the band Fastball said.

Money from the concert will go to the Graham Grulke Education Fund to help support Grulke’s seven-year-old son.
