Nintendo announces Wii U price, release date
Nintendo streamed an event in New York City live on their website Thursday morning announcing the price, release date and several other details for their upcoming Wii U video game console.
Wii U will be available at retailers Sunday, Nov. 18. The system with be sold in two configurations, the Basic Set ($299.99) and Deluxe Set ($349.99). Accessories included with each configuration are listed below:

A company demo showcased the system’s “Nintendo TVii” function, which allows the Wii U GamePad to explore and display content stored on DVR devices and web video services, as well as enhanced content for sporting events.
Several Wii U games were announced for the launch window, including New Super Mario Bros. U, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and LEGO City Undercover. The company also announced Wii controllers and most existing Wii software will work with the Wii U.
Austin gamers were treated to a sneak preview of the system and a selection of upcoming games last month during several events Nintendo called The Wii U Experience.
