The United Way for Greater Austin is issuing a call to action for businesses.

Monday, the group kicked off its fall fundraising campaign to help raise money for the community. The group unveiled a Capital Metro bus, outfitted in a United Way theme.

United Way hopes to raise $17 million from local businesses and their employees over the next three months.

"You know, the United Way is probably in my mind, the most efficient and effective way to donate back to the community, those folks in need. The other thing that's so great about the United Way, their workplace giving campaign is so efficient, so effective," United Way Campaign Co-Chair Bobby Jenkins said.

As Jenkins said, many area businesses allow employees to donate a portion of their paycheck to the United Way.
