Hundreds of drummers, musicians and color guards descended on the Toney Burger Stadium for Austin Independent School District's Marching Band Jamboree.

The young artists represented all 12 high schools from around the district. Wednesday night’s event was also a competition.

"I think it's a real rush. You're hoping you're hitting the right notes, hitting the right sets. And you're hoping everyone stays together. There's a conductor. Everybody has to watch and stay together," Eric Wan said.

This annual performance is the largest fundraiser for AISD's fine arts programs.

The jamboree has been an ongoing tradition for the last 40 years.
