Runners hit the pavement Sunday morning for the eighth-annual RetailMeNot Austin Marathon Relay.

Organizers say it is the second largest marathon in the U.S. About 2,500 runners were grouped into 500 teams of five. Each runner ran a separate leg of the race, from a 12K to a 5K.

Any team that finished the race in under two hours walked away with $100,000.

Participants and organizers say this is a great race for any fitness level.

"What's great about this race is it's an accessible marathon,” Brian Hoyt said. It enables anybody who can run three miles to ten miles to participate.

Proceeds for the race go to Junior Achievement, a nonprofit which educates young people on business, economics and free enterprise.
