YNN is partnering with the Travis County Sheriff's Office to hold a candy drive benefiting the Austin Children's Shelter.

Deputy Derrick Taylor who oversees the project says it's an opportunity the children wouldn't otherwise have.

"They can not go out into a neighborhood and trick or treat like normal kids do so what we Travis County Sheriff's Office and the Travis County Sheriff's Office Explorers do is go over and transform a building into a neighborhood for those kids so they can go out and trick or treat," Taylor said.

If you'd like to help, bring your candy, costume, decoration or monetary donations to the Travis County Sheriff's Office all day on Oct. 15. They are located at 5555 Airport Boulevard.

Questions can be directed to Deputy Taylor at 512-854-4315.
