After watching the debate between Senate hopefuls Republican Ted Cruz and Democrat Paul Sadler, there’s no doubt they know how to argue.
The constant jabs between the two candidates rendered the moderator in the Dallas debate nearly useless.
“The debate certainly was lively and this is what you anticipate I think when you have, where Paul Sadler is obviously coming from behind,” Sherri Greenberg with the LBJ School of Public Affairs said.
The latest poll shows Sadler 26 points behind Cruz. Greenberg said that, as the underdog, Sadler seized the opportunity to make his presence in the race known.
“Relentless questioning; rebuttals; back and forth, accusations of cross examination and barbs,” Greenberg said. “Clearly we had two lawyers going at it.”
Both Sadler and Cruz have agreed to another televised debate set for Oct. 19 in Dallas.
