Football games can be influenced by the fans. A stadium can get so loud that it throws the other team off balance.
Sam Jenkins is a preacher, but during his off time, he doubles as a super fan for the Connally High School Cougars.
This is a ministry,” Jenkins said. “Football is a ministry. I love it. Football is a ministry. This is a place other than church that I can come to and just really let go. These boys are worth it."
Sam's own kids play in Junior Varsity, but because he wants to support the athletic program, he cheers at the varsity games too.
"I just enjoy watching them and I take it home, knowing that win or lose, we came to play the game and that's what it's all about,” he said. “When you come to the Cougar Den, it's time to feed baby."
