KILLEEN, Texas (AP) _ A Fort Hood soldier was shot to death and another was injured during a fight outside a Killeen home.

Killeen police say 22-year-old Jamie Lee Schnider died after he was shot Thursday night. A 21-year-old Fort Hood soldier whose name was not released was also shot. He was taken to an area hospital where he remains in stable condition.

The resident was taken into custody by officers and transported to the Killeen City Jail. Police are continuing to investigate

Police say the fight occurred after the resident at the home was confronted by three men, including the two who were shot. A verbal argument then turned into a physical altercation when one of the men assaulted the resident.
