Driver arrested in accident with cyclist

Police have arrested and charged the man they say was behind the wheel of an SUV that struck a bicyclist early Friday morning in Downtown Austin.
Truett D. Jones, 25, was arrested and charged with failure to stop and render aid and intoxication assault, both third degree felonies, and leaving the scene of a crash, a class B misdemeanor.
Police suspect he was behind the wheel of a car which hit a bicyclist around 6 a.m. near the intersection of 15th and Guadalupe streets.
The bicyclist was taken to a nearby hospital with “serious injuries.”
