Austin police identify woman killed in South Austin collision

Update -- APD has identified the victim as 64-year-old Jeanette Gilbert.

Earlier -- A woman is dead after a crash in South Austin Monday evening.

Police were called out to FM 1327 and the Interstate-35 service road about 5:30 p.m. after a Jeep ran into the woman’s car at an intersection. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The three people in the Jeep were not seriously injured, and there is still no word yet on what caused the wreck.
