Mentor to child injured in East Austin house fire remains hopeful

As investigators sift through evidence from Monday morning's
East 14th Street fire, friends and neighbors are looking for their own answers as to how the blaze began.
Four people remain hospitalized, including a 65-year-old man and a pregnant 16-year-old girl, who are recovering in a San Antonio Hospital.
Two girls, another 16-year-old and an 11-year-old, are in critical condition in a Galveston hospital.
Mission Possible outreach counselor Alissa Lewis says she knows the 11-year-old girl who was living in the home.
"She just has a sweet heart, a very sweet heart,” she said. "She comes in weekly and we had ice cream last Thursday and I got the opportunity to hug her real tight."
That was the last time the 37-year-old child advocate saw the little girl she calls "Alisea."
"Alisea" was one of two people rescued by fire fighters. Trapped inside the house, investigators say she and the teen girl are lucky to be alive.
The mentor of the 11-year-old girl has glanced at the damage, but only for a moment. She's shocked to see her young friend's home destroyed.
Investigators continue following leads, asking questions and looking to find out why nine people lost their home, possibly to arson.
The 11 year-old remains in critical condition in a Galveston burn unit. In the meantime, Miss Lewis remains hopeful she'll get to see her young friend again.
Tuesday, fire investigators say they continue to follow up on reports that someone threatened to burn the house down hours before the incident.
The pregnant 16 year-old girl could be released as early as Wednesday.
