With the crowds trying to get to the COTA track, downtown Austin is anything but quiet.

Thousands of people made their way through lines at this shuttle stop on Trinity Street near 15th on Friday.

More than a dozen buses took on passengers, taking them to and from the track. Most fans were pleased with how fast it was moving, and were just happy to be in Austin.

"There's so much more to do in Austin than just the events,” F1 fan David Sword said. “We're eating and drinking and music and lots of art--a good culture outside of the race as well."

Friday was the practice run for the F1 cars, but fans say it was also a bit of a practice run for them too.

"We were a bit concerned about what was going to be here this morning, but the line's moving, of course getting on the shuttle. We'll see what that's like, getting there,” F1 fan Caroline Pfefferkorn said. “That's why today is a practice run for the weekend."

YNN’s Bonnie Gonzalez chatted with some fans waiting in line for the shuttle Friday. Hear what they have to say in the video above.
