For the first time in 5 years, the Lake Travis Cavaliers will not be hoisting a state championship trophy at the end of the year. The Cavs fell victim the the Pflugerville Panthers Friday night at Birkelbach Stadium.

Pflugerville took a 23-20 lead with just under a minute to play. Baker Mayfield threw to the end zone in the final seconds for one last chance at a game-winning touchdown, but after making the catch, Grant Foster's foot came down just inches out of bounds, and the Cavs season came to an end.

Pflugerville will play Lufkin, who knocked off defending state champ Dekaney, next week.
