Area nonprofits are giving thanks this holiday as nearly $500,000 in grant funding is coming their way.
The St. David’s Foundation is stepping in after unexpected funding cuts by United Way for Greater Austin left agencies looking for help in July.
People’s Community Clinic, one of the recipients, will be receiving $2,700 dollars from the foundation.
"For us, it's the difference in being able to provide high quality management to our patients who have chronic conditions," People’s Community Clinic CEO Regina Rogoff said.
The funds for the People's Clinic go specifically to the more-than 700 diabetic patients that are seen there.
About two dozen agencies were affected by United Way funding cuts, losing thousands in grant money.
St. David's is helping out twelve of those agencies.
