Holiday travelers are feeling less pain at the pump this time around. Gas prices have been dropping since the middle of September.
According to AAA, the national average is about $3.45. Here in Austin, you get a better deal paying almost 30 cents less per gallon.
Lionel Espinosa said he didn’t mind footing the bill. "Gas is going down, so we're driving even more,” he said.
According to one website, the cheapest gas in town is $3 per gallon. If you’re a bargain shopper, the HEB on Riverside and Pleasant Valley is offering a deal for their customers--$2.93 per gallon.
The low prices are great news for recent California transplant Mona Mann. She was paying $4.25 when she left the West Coast a month ago. Now in Austin, she's only paying $3.05.
“Very cheap, and I am happy about it," she said.
