When Michael Dell founded Dell Inc., he created what would become one of the biggest tech companies in the world and a major driving force for the local Central Texas economy.

Times have changed in the decades since Dell Inc. first began making computers, and now, according to managing editor of the Austin Business Journal Tony Quesada, the tech company is shifting away from the personal computer market.

He says Dell is looking to move away from its computers and tablets and is putting a greater focus on “high-profit” items such as servers or high-end computer contacts with businesses.
