Operation Blue Santa needs your help to reach even more families this year.

The Austin Police Department's annual toy drive campaign is trying to help not only its clients, but also the thousands of people who normally rely on the Christmas Bureau of Austin and Travis County.

The Christmas Bureau is currently under fire for alleged irregularities that APD won't specify.

"The Christmas Bureau has been there and for some reason, something's going on there,” Police Chief Art Acevedo said. “The Austin Police Department will be launching a review and investigation to find out and to get to the bottom of it because nobody, nobody that makes a promise to a family—especially to a child—should break that promise."

Police are asking people to not make online donations to the Christmas Bureau. Instead, Operation Blue Santa wants you to donate to an alternative account that police opened.

Wells Fargo officials say the name of the account is important. It’s called "The Christmas Bureau 2012, Care of Operation Blue Santa."

Donations can be made at any Wells Fargo location.
