Woman dies after semi-truck collision

A woman is dead after a fatal collision at the intersection of the westbound frontage road of Highway 290 and the southbound frontage road of Highway 183 Sunday evening.
Officers say at 8:07 p.m., a semi-truck was traveling westbound in the 7300 block of East U.S. Highway 290 when it switched from the middle to the left lane. A green Chevrolet Suburban was in front of the semi-truck in the middle lane and then made a left turn in front of the semi-truck.
The truck struck the driver’s side of the Suburban, causing it to crash into a signal light pole, according to APD.
The right front passenger of the Suburban, identified as 28-year-old Belinda Cisneros, died on scene. The four other passengers in the Suburban were taken to Brackenridge Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Cisneros’ death is Austin’s 71st traffic fatality of 2012. Last year this time, there were 48 traffic fatalities.
