If you're looking for a unique gift, or maybe just something for that history buff in your family, the Texas General Land Office wants you to know they can have those holiday presents ‘mapped’ out for you.
From replicas of an historic city to county maps, they have thousands in their collection to choose from.
"We have 35 million documents here in the land office, many of them are these
very, very old maps,” Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson said. “Some of them are 150 years old. We make digital first generation copies and when you frame them, they look like originals."
The maps range in price from $20 to $40. All the proceeds from the sales will go toward restoring more historic maps. Click here for more information.
