Southbound I-35 reopened after man threatens suicide
Traffic on Interstate 35 in South Austin was shut down Tuesday morning as police and fire crews talked down a man who had climbed on top of a sign above the highway.
Police closed all lanes of the highway near Oltorf Street around 8:45 a.m. after reports of a man sitting on a sign above southbound lanes of the highway.
About an hour later, the man had been talked down and was immediately arrested. The highway was reopened shortly afterward.
Austin police have not released any other details.
