A man who last week fled his jury trial on sexual assault charges was arrested without incident in San Antonio Thursday morning.
Officers with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force say 22-year-old Pedro Javier Quintero was on trial in Caldwell County with three other defendants for his part in the 2009 aggravated sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl.
Despite his absence, the trial continued and Quintero was sentenced to 48 years in prison.
Any additional charges Quintero faces will be up to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.
