Scott & White hospital enters multi-billion dollar partnership
Officials at Scott & White hospital say they are ready to enter into a multi-billion dollar deal with another health care provider.
According to the hospital's website, the joint partnership with Baylor Health Care System out of Dallas will be the state's largest not for profit health system.
On Friday, the two organizations signed an agreement of intent to combine their resources. The deal carries a seven-point-seven billion dollar price tag.
The new system named Baylor Scott & White Health will include the organizations’ combined 42 hospitals, more than 350 patient care sites, more than 4,000 active physicians, 34,000 employees and the Scott & White Health Plan.
A definite agreement is expected to be signed next year.
