Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested 90 undocumented immigrants in a recent six-day operation.
The agents conducted Operation Bear III throughout five cities across Central and South Texas last week. They say the people who were arrested had well-documented criminal records and have been tracked by ICE.
Of the arrested immigrants, 13 were in Austin, a city that ICE agents say has become a focal point.
"We feel that this is a target-rich environment that people fitting ICE's priorities are living here in this area, and I have a team in Waco and two teams in San Antonio, and they were constantly coming to this area to work it," Enrique Lucero, ICE San Antonio's Field Office Director, said.
Operation Bear began in 2010. Previously, the operation has covered Waco, Laredo, the Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio.
