The eldest of the three Yassine brothers was sentenced to one year plus one day in prison Friday.

A federal raid in March revealed 39-year-old Steve Yassine, along with his brothers Mike and Hadi, led a downtown money-laundering and drug trafficking ring in the heart of Austin’s entertainment district. The siblings laundered money in the shadow of several downtown clubs owned by Mike Yassine, including Treasure Island, Pure and Spill, according to federal officials.

Steve Yassine pleaded guilty in October to drug tracking charges.

Federal Judge Sam Sparks officially sentenced him to his one year in prison Friday, as well as three years supervised release. He will be deported once he completes his sentence.

Steve Yassine has requested his deportation be to Lebanon, but immigration will decide once he finishes his sentence.

He will get credit for time served.
