Times are still tough for many industries around the country, but that’s definitely not the case for Austin’s tech industry.

Local tech companies are still struggling to fill positions with qualified workers. As Colin Pope, editor of the Austin Business Journal, says several local groups have taken trips overseas to hold job fairs of sorts to attract foreign talent to the Capital City.

Just over the past couple of years, many companies—including Apple, GM and VISA to name a few—announced they would be opening new tech centers in Austin. That is putting pressure on local companies to keep their talent loyal.

Hewlett-Packard has even deposed two of their employees, accusing them of luring several others to work for GM’s new tech center.
